Will we have a Triple Crown Winner???

Big Brown is preparing for the Belmont. It is the colt's spectacular bid for the first Triple Crown in 30 years . Despite a slight, horse's case of a 'hang nail', Big Brown's quarter crack is patched and the sturdy hoof that helped him stampede to an undefeated record is as strong as ever.

The path to victory got even easier for Big Brown early Saturday when Casino Drive, the morning-line second choice in the Belmont, was scratched due to a bruise in his left hind foot.

Now only longshots and the grueling 1 1/2-mile race stand between Big Brown and racing immortality. And what a stud he will make when it's all over.

Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, discovered a body this week on the Potomac River in Washington.

Lynda Carter told The Washington Post she was alone in a boat when she saw the body Wednesday. She says she didn't have a cell phone with her, so she yelled to some fishermen and asked them to call police. Carter waited until rescuers arrived and directed them to the body. An autopsy is being done to determine the cause of death. Too bad Wonder Woman wasn't in Ct. to help the poor fella hit by that car earlier in the week.

A German Bomb (from WWII) is found in London- on the anniversary of D-Day.

Unexploded WWII bomb

Army engineers covered the bomb with sand to minimise the risk of an explosion.
An Army bomb disposal team carried out a controlled explosion on the 2,200-pound German warhead London's Metropolitan Police said. At one point during the week the bomb started ticking, which suggested a timing device . Disposal experts put strong magnets next to the bomb to shut down the clockwork and the ticking stopped .

There were no reports of any injuries or damage to surrounding property after the blast, the police and Ministry of Defense said.

FYI- It's not uncommon for World War II-era bombs to be unearthed in Europe. In London, which suffered the aerial bombardment of the Blitz, bombs are uncovered two or three times a year, according to authorities.

The London Blitz lasted from September 1940 until May 1941. German bombers attacked the city every day or night for the first two months, but the worst night was the last -- May 10, 1941, when 3,000 people were killed in London, according to the Museum of London.

Remember the 'Thong Bandits'?

Police in a Colorado say they've caught them. "

A surveillance video released last week by police in Arvada, Colo., shows two unarmed men inside the convenience store. They stole an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes in the May 16 robbery.

One man wore a green thong and the other wore blue. Each thong barely covered the man's nose, mouth and chin and left the rest of his face exposed. One also wore a pink backpack in which he stuffed the stolen items. No word yet on where they got the thongs or the backpack.....
