Money Gone Sour

While American' slept, oil prices plummeted to a one-year low below $83 a barrel. Gas at the pump is at a six month low. However, this doesn't seem to be helping the feds as they search for new ways to jumpstart the US economy. Overseas, European fears of a severe global economic downturn caused by the crisis in credit markets ignited a sell-off of both crude and equities as stock markets slumped in trading. World finance ministers and central bankers will gather in Washington this weekend to search for solutions to the global financial crisis, a day late and a dollar short.

What to do with an unruly teen...

Grandparents of an unruly Iowa teenager abandoned her at an Omaha hospital under Nebraska's safe-haven law. The teen is back with her granparents after their attempt to teach her a lesson was followed by guilt.
A 14-year-old Iowa girl was left Tuesday at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

The 14-year-old Iowa girl was left at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She was the 17th child left under a state law that took effect in July but was the first from out of state.

The law absolves anyone of abandonment charges for leaving a child of any age at a state-licensed hospital.
