Obama Leads in the Polls

With the race for the white house coming to a climax, CNN is reporting that Barack Obama has doubled his lead over the past month, according to national poll. The polls says that 6 of 10 questioned said they expect Obama to win.
The reasons?
  • Financial crisis,
  • President Bush (Bush is only 2 points higher than worst presidential approval rating in history)
  • Palin

Fifty-three percent of likely voters questioned in the poll say they are backing Obama for president, with 45 percent supporting McCain.
The most recent CNN national Poll of Polls ( incorporating the CNN survey, as well as new tracking numbers from Gallup and Hotline taken October 3-5) shows Obama leading McCain by 6 points -- at 49 to 43 percent.

A Fan can Help Prevent SIDS

In a new study, published in October's Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, says that
using a fan to circulate air seems to lower the risk of sudden infant death syndrome. Placing babies on their backs to sleep is the best advice for preventing SIDS, a still mysterious cause of death. Using a fan to circulate air seemed to lower the risk of sudden infant death syndrome in the study of nearly 500 babies.
U.S. SIDS deaths have decreased by more than half over a decade thanks to the precautions taken . But SIDS remains the leading cause of death in infants ages 1 month to 1 year.

Distraught Man Takes Himself and Family

In California, a man distraught because he could not find work shot and killed his mother-in-law, his wife and three sons and then killed himself inside a home in an upscale San Fernando Valley neighborhood, police said. Authorities said the man had an MBA in finance but appeared to have been unemployed for several months and had worked for major accounting firms, such as Price Waterhouse.
