Money Problems
In what many are calling a near "Socialist solution" , the Bush administration is considering taking ownership stakes in certain U.S. banks as an option for dealing with a severe global credit crisis. The plan calls for part of that $7,000,000,000 to be used.

Who didn't see this one coming? The National Debt Clock in New York City has run out of digits to record the growing figure. As a short-term fix, the digital dollar sign on the billboard-style clock has been switched to a figure — the "1" in $10 trillion. It's marking the federal government's current debt at about $10.2 trillion.

The Durst Organization says it plans to update the sign next year by adding two digits. That will make it capable of tracking debt up to a quadrillion dollars. The late Manhattan real estate developer Seymour Durst put the sign up in 1989 to call attention to what was then a $2.7 trillion debt.

Finally, contraceptives in Gloucester

Remember the "Pregnancy Pact" a while back? At least 17 girls from a Gloucester, Mass. high school, four times more than a year before, were pregnant. Now their school says that they will allow contraceptives to be distributed -- with parental consent.

Time magazine reported that some of the 17 pregnant girls at the high school had agreed to have kids and raise them together. The town mayor and some of the pregnant girls denied any pact existed.

Getting back at her daughter's ex-bf

An Illinois woman is accused of badgering her daughter's teenage ex-boyfriend with hundreds of e-mails and text messages and threatening to post nude images of him on the Internet unless he started seeing the girl again.

The boys parents told police that the boy and his 13-year-old girlfriend had exchanged nude photos of themselves over their cell phones, and that after the breakup, the girl's 42-year-old mother threatened to post the boy's pictures online unless he reunited with her daughter.
