Anheuser-Busch Sold to Belgian brewer InBev for $52B



The maker of Budweiser and Bud Light, has agreed to a takeover by the giant Belgian brewer. The union will create a global beer leader and could possible bring to an end one of the most iconic names in American business. The acquisition means control over America's largest brewer, the No. 2 worldwide . Anheuser-Busch has more than 48 percent of American market share with brands that include Bud Light. The new owners have no immediate plans to vacate St. Louis, Mo.

Genocide charges are filed against Sudanese President

The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has filed genocide charges against Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir for a five-year campaign of violence in Darfur.

ICC Chief Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo presented his evidence against al-Bashir to the judges at the Hague in the Netherlands .They evidence includes masterminding attempts to wipe out African tribes in the war-torn region with a campaign of murder, rape and deportation.

In his request, Moreno-Ocampo says there are reasonable grounds to believe that al-Bashir bears criminal responsibility for five counts of genocide, two counts of crimes against humanity, and two counts of war crimes.

A prosecutor at the International Criminal Court is expected to seek an arrest warrant Monday charging the Sudanese President with orchestrating violence in Darfur that has left hundreds of thousands of people dead since 2003.

World's Oldest Blogger has died
An Australian woman described as the world's oldest Internet blogger has died at the age of 108 after posting a final message about singing "a happy song" in her nursing home.


Olive Riley "passed away peacefully on July 12 and will be mourned by thousands of Internet friends and hundreds of descendants and other relatives," a note on her website said.

Riley had posted more than 70 entries on her blog from Woy Woy on the east coast since February last year, sharing her thoughts on modern life and her experiences living through the entire 20th century.
Riley's blog, initially on www.allaboutolive.com.au and more recently at http://worldsoldestblogger.blogspot.com In her final post on June 26, she wrote: "I can't believe I've been here in this nursing home for more than a week.
