Beheading Story Gets Weirder

A police officer at the scene of the Canadian bus beheading reported seeing the attacker hacking off pieces of the victim's body and eating them.

In the tape of the police radio transmissions, a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer says the attacker is armed with a knife and scissors and is "defiling the body at the front of the bus as we speak." At one point the officer said the attacker was at the back of the bus, hacking off pieces and eating it."

Christina Applegate says that she has Treatable Breast Cancer
Famed for playing Kelly Bundy on TV comedy "Married ... With Children," actress Christina Applegatesays that is fighting breast cancer, but expected to make a full recovery. Applegate, 36, was diagnosed with cancer during a regular MRI. The actress's mother battled both breast and cervical cancer.

You can protest in China if you apply for a permit to do so.

China says that those wishing to protest at the Beijing Games must apply five days beforehand. You can apply as long as you do not harm “national interests,” the security chief for the Olympic organizing committee said.

Accused of repressing dissent, China recently said it would "allow officially approved demonstrations to be held at three parks in the capital."

“Assembling to march and protest is a citizen’s right. But it must be stressed that when exercising this right, citizens must respect and not harm others’ freedoms and rights and must not harm national, social and collective interests" an official said in the statement.

CDC off by 40%

According to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, at least 56,000 people become infected with the AIDS virus every year in the United States — 40 percent more than previous estimates,

The CDC stressed that actual infection rates have not risen but said better methods of measuring new diagnosed infections and then extrapolating this to the general population led to the fresh estimates.

"CDC's first estimates from this system reveal that the HIV epidemic is — and has been — worse than previously known. Results indicate that approximately 56,300 new HIV infections occurred in the United States in 2006," the CDC said in a statement.
